LightAware gives talk at London ‘Light Meeting’

Hosted by Friends of the Earth

“The choice of artificial lighting technologies for use on streets and in and on buildings affects people’s health, is bleaching out views of the night skies and may be affecting nature and wildlife species.

In February 2017 Friends of the Earth hosted a meeting of various interested parties concerned with light and how choices about lighting technologies can affect people’s health, nature, the night sky, urban and rural design and people’s responses to conditions.”

The meeting included environmental activists and organisations, astronomers and the lighting industry.  A LightAware ambassador gave a talk alerting the group to the health and social exclusion problems that some people are experiencing as a result of new lighting technologies.   The talk was ‘eye opening’ for those present.
