Joining LightAware is easy. Just fill in our online application form with your details and you are done.
Membership costs £24.00 annually or £2.00 a month. You can also make an additional donation if you wish.

Frequently Asked Questions
What different types of membership are there?
We currently only have one type of membership which is single membership.
If you are joining on behalf of someone else please complete the application giving the details of the person you would like correspondence to go to.
If you are joining as an organisation please assign a representative to be the contact for the organisation.
How can I pay?
You can pay online through our website using Paypal or your debit/credit card if you are completing our online application form.
If you would rather pay offline get in touch with us at email@example.com and we will give you our bank details to make a payment directly through your bank or send a cheque for membership.
Do you offer discounted/concessionary membership rates?
No. Membership is £24 a year or £2 a month.
Can I change my contact details or get in touch with you regarding my membership?
Yes, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and our membership manager will help you.
Can I buy membership if I am under 16?
No, we don’t currently allow under 16 memberships but you can ask a family member or representative to take out membership on your behalf.
What will you do with my personal information?
Protecting your personal information is important to us. For information about how LightAware protects and stores your data, please take a look at the Data Protection Policy on our website. A copy of this will also be included in your welcome pack. We are registered with the information commissioner under the General Data Protection Registration legislation (Organisation Name: LightAware, Reference number: ZB325577).
My membership pack hasn’t arrived, what can I do?
Your membership pack should arrive within 2 weeks of receiving your application. If it still hasn’t arrived after that time please let us know by emailing us at email@example.com.
How are my membership fees spent?
Membership fees and donations help us to support people affected by light and lighting and to fund research and campaigns to raise awareness. A proportion of membership fees go towards providing support and advice to members, publishing our members’ magazine and maintaining our website. However, our spending does not reflect the totality of our work as much of the work we do is undertaken by unpaid volunteers.
What if I can’t afford membership fees?
We understand that some light-disabled people may be under financial hardship and will consider individual circumstances. Please get in touch with us if this is the case at firstname.lastname@example.org
I am not from the UK, can I still join LightAware?
Yes you can, at the same rate as UK members. However, in order to keep our administration costs down we would normally send membership information to international members by email. If you do require your membership pack sent in the post please let us know. We may add an additional charge for shipping which will vary depending on location.
