Thank you so much for your interest in becoming a LightAware member.
Joining LightAware is easy. Just click to either pay monthly or yearly using the buttons on this page, choose the amount you would like to pay, fill in our application form with your details and you are done.
If you would prefer to join offline you can download a copy of the registration form and email or post your details to us.
LightAware membership is a great way to support us financially, keep informed of our work, and get more actively involved should you wish to.
As a member you will be invited to attend and vote at our AGM and be given the opportunity to take part in our campaigns. Your involvement will help us to understand more about the impact of the changes in artificial light on all of our health and to steer our activities to where it is most needed.
There is of course no obligation to get more involved. You can still find out what’s happening through the LightAware magazine and newsletter, with the added satisfaction that you are supporting our vital work, campaigning for safe inclusive lighting for all.
Other membership benefits include access to the members area of the website and access to a members only Facebook group for those able to manage a screen.
We would be delighted if you would join us – an increase in regular income however small helps us plan for the year ahead and expand our activities. With your support we will be able to do so much more.
Membership fees start from £2 a month or £23 a year. If you are able, we would be grateful if you would consider donating more. International members will receive membership communication by email unless printed copies have been requested which may incur an additional shipping fee.

We currently only have one type of membership which is single membership.
If you are joining on behalf of someone else please complete the application giving the details of the person you would like correspondence to go to.
If you are joining as an organisation please assign a representative to be the contact for the organisation.
You can make a payment online through our website using Stripe or your debit/credit card if you are completing our online application form.
If you would rather pay offline get in touch with us at members@lightaware.org and we will give you our bank details to make a payment directly through your bank or you can send us a cheque.
No. Membership is a minimum of £23 a year or £2 a month.
You can update your contact details by going to your membership account on the website and editing your profile. You can also contact us at members@lightaware.org and our membership manager will help you.
No, we don’t currently allow under 16 memberships but you can ask a family member or representative to take out membership on your behalf.
Protecting your personal information is important to us. For information about how LightAware protects and stores your data, please take a look at the Privacy Policy on our website. A copy of this will also be included in your welcome pack. We are registered with the information commissioner under the General Data Protection Registration legislation (Organisation Name: LightAware, Reference number: ZB325577).
Your membership pack should arrive within 2 weeks of receiving your application. If it still hasn’t arrived after that time please let us know by emailing us at members@lightaware.org.
Membership fees and donations help us to support people affected by light and lighting and to fund research and campaigns to raise awareness. A proportion of membership fees go towards providing support and advice to members, publishing our members’ magazine and maintaining our website. However, our spending does not reflect the totality of our work as much of the work we do is undertaken by unpaid volunteers.
We understand that some light-disabled people may be under financial hardship and will consider individual circumstances. Please get in touch with us if this is the case at members@lightaware.org
Yes you can, at the same rate as UK members. However, in order to keep our administration costs down we would normally send membership information to international members by email. If you do require your membership pack sent in the post please let us know. We may add an additional charge for shipping which will vary depending on location.
We do not currently accept corporate membership.
